Daniel & Jessie’s Story.
Daniel and Jessie had outgrown their previous home and spent months searching for an established property that matched how they lived. Nothing quite aligned with their vision or preferred location. With a background in development and a strong interest in functional design, they were drawn to the idea of starting fresh. Building with Into Place gave them the opportunity to choose the perfect block and shape a home that felt personal and intentional.
The Brief.
From the beginning, they were clear on what mattered most: natural light, intuitive zoning and a strong connection to the outdoors. Their design blends clean, modern lines with Scandinavian warmth through soft timbers, simple detailing and open, airy spaces. Northern facing living areas were a priority along with a covered outdoor entertaining zone that would extend their living space throughout the year.
Functionality guided every decision. Three bedrooms, a dedicated study, a walk in robe, a double garage and efficient upper level planning were essential features. Along the way they refined the design to improve practicality, including removing a balcony to achieve a more streamlined and purposeful layout.
Building toward the tail end of COVID came with timing challenges, but the experience remained well managed and straightforward. Daniel and Jessie described the construction quality as exceptional with minimal defects and any items resolved quickly and professionally.

The Design.
Their favourite space is the ensuite. Filled with natural light from a skylight and finished in a simple, refined palette, it has a calm, hotel inspired feel. They also love their outdoor area and the study which adds valuable flexibility to the home.
For anyone considering building, Daniel and Jessie recommend visiting display homes to understand space and scale. Bring a tape measure, take note of what you love and prepare early for your prestart meeting. Understanding which upgrades matter most will make the process smoother and more enjoyable.
